Donghae mentions a “Song Qian” (pre-f(x) debut)

This is too funny, so I re-translated it again below LOL. I cracked up so hard watching it and watching SuJu try to do damage control. Hangeng, you just made it worse. Anyways, this is back when SuJu-M was promoting but f(x) hadn’t debuted yet, in 2008 apparently. Victoria had already appeared in “U” (this is probably before she got the name “Victoria” too), so they would have all known her. I think Donghae was probably just joking (the only girl they all knew, that was Chinese like Hangeng and Zhoumi), which makes it all so hilarious because he has no idea what he did wrong.

They’re basically playing “Truth or Dare” and Zhoumi picks “Truth.”

Male Host: The question is for you, and your answer is for the 6 of them to listen to. Among the 7 members, who would most likely become your love rival?

Donghae: Say it.

Male Host: Say it.

Zhoumi: I think…Hangeng Hyung!

Male Host: Eh, that’s not bad!

Female Host: Why?

Zhoumi: Because, you see—

Donghae(whispers): …Song Qian?!

Siwon goes “Shit” and puts his hand on Donghae’s shoulder. Hangeng turns rapidly. Everyone else manages to go on fairly well (Siwon, Hangeng, you two are horrible at trying to do damage control.) Zhoumi attempts to continue like nothing happened.

Female Host (to Donghae): It’s as if you know something?

Zhoumi: Because, if…because…they were just joking. Because if it was a Korean member, even if both he and I liked her…because of the language barrier, it’d be hard to communicate. And I wouldn’t be able to understand her inner thoughts/feelings as well, either.

Female Host: What did he just say? Ah, he’s not saying it anymore. Come down and say it, come down.

Hangeng: No, he’s just joking, actually.

Siwon cracks up, Hangeng tackles Donghae. (No, really. You two SUCK at doing damage control. Suck.)

Female Host: We’ll rewind that part and re-listen to it!

Hangeng: No, really. He really was just joking.

Female Host: Then if he’s joking, why don’t you just say it again louder?

Hangeng: The girl he just said, no one knows, so…

Female Host: That’s not necessarily true - I know a lot.

Hangeng: Because the girl he mentioned is actually a trainee. So, he was just joking.

Female Host: Then what does she look like? Let us know a bit.

Hangeng: What does she look like?

Female Host: Yes

Hangeng: She resembles you a lot.

Female Host: Really?

Hangeng: Really.

Female Host: Yeah, right.

Han Geng said the last line because it’s happened to him before—he slipped on the floor while trying to act cool on Happy Camp, and He Laoshi promised that he’d cut out that scene, but they ended up using it as a promotional trailer and airing it over and over. ╮(￣▽￣”)╭
